IGS–DOTUni Undergoes ISO Audit for PhD in Development Education Program

The Institute of Graduate Studies (IGS), through the Distance, Open, and Transnational University (DOTUni), underwent an ISO audit on March 23, 2026, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement in graduate education.
The audit focused on the Doctor of Philosophy in Development Education (PhD DevEd) program, one of the institution’s flagship offerings designed to improve leaders, educators, and scholars in the field of development education. The evaluation covered key areas including curriculum design, program delivery, instructional processes, and alignment with established quality management standards.
Dr. Regidor Gaboy, Curriculum Program Focal Person for the PhD DevEd program, led the presentation during the audit. He provided a comprehensive overview of the program’s structure, highlighting its outcomes-based framework, flexible learning modalities, and responsiveness to the evolving demands of distance and transnational education. He also emphasized the program’s commitment to maintaining academic rigor while ensuring accessibility for a diverse and geographically dispersed student population.
Supporting the presentation were Dean Alona Badua, along with DOTUni PhD DevEd faculty tutors Dr. Elmer Dela Rosa, Dr. Rosario Quicho, and Dr. Leila Collantes. Also present during the audit was Chair of the Department of Education Policy and Practice, Dr. Jennifer V. Velasquez-Fajanela, whose participation further underscored the collaborative effort in ensuring the program’s quality and excellence.
The audit was conducted by Dr. Catherine Sigua of ISO, who carried out a thorough assessment of the program’s compliance with institutional and international quality standards. The evaluation process included a detailed review of program documentation, implementation strategies, and mechanisms for monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
The successful conduct of the ISO audit reflects DOTUni’s dedication to upholding high standards in graduate education.
